Betsy joined Samsara BioCapital in 2022 as the firm’s Chief People Officer. As Samsara’s chief people officer, Betsy brings over 20 years’ experience building successful, mission-driven teams. Most recently she served as Principia Biopharma’s Senior Vice President of People from 2014 through the company’s acquisition by Sanofi in 2020 for $3.7B. She is passionate about building team culture through innovation, inclusion, and diversity. At Samsara, Betsy will lead all internal HR functions as well as partner with portfolio companies on all HR matters. From 2007 to 2014, Betsy led HR at Switchfly (a SaaS platform for the travel and loyalty industries) and her previous experience includes various Human Resources roles at CV Therapeutics, Cepheid and Genentech.
Betsy received a BA in Sociology from the University of California, Davis.
